Your Club’s Pre-Season Tour Planning Checklist
A pre-season tour should support the wider preparation plan. Before making arrangements, agree the objectives with the people responsible for coaching, player welfare and the club budget.
Define the sporting priorities
Decide how much training time you need, the type of facilities required and whether fixtures are essential. Share the squad’s age group and playing standard so proposals can be assessed against the right brief.
Allow room in the schedule
Travel days, meals and transfers all take time. A packed itinerary can leave little flexibility, so identify the sessions that matter most and discuss a realistic daily rhythm with the group’s coaches.
Make the costs clear
Separate included arrangements from optional extras and personal costs. Confirm rooming assumptions, staff places, meal arrangements and airport transfers. Use the written quotation and booking terms for deposit amounts and payment deadlines.
Confirm the details
Check the status of training venues and fixture arrangements before communicating them as confirmed. Gather traveller information through the agreed process and make sure the group understands its final itinerary and contact arrangements.
